Goals: Forlan 3, Hao,
After our defeat in the first game of the new league the team turns up with a large squad and renewed sense of focus at Hammer Hill.
We start with a more attacking 4-4-2 line up with Jeff’s mate (G), Hemant (RB), Jason E (CB), Colin (CB), Terry (LB), Ed (LM), Manj (RM), Hao (CM), Rob (CM), Pat (F) and Forlan (F)
We have Jeff, Chi, Mark, Sam, Tony, Raul, Varun, Lui Chiu on the bench.
Soho start very well despite the heavy pitch and hot sun and play some excellent passing football. Jason and Colin look solid, Hemant makes some great runs from the back, Rob, Manj, Hao and Forlan all combine well. We go into a lead with a cool debut goal from Forlan and Hao adds another in quick succession with a fantastic goal celebration albeit a little bit gay. We need to see more celebrations going forward.
However the mid part of the half we go to sleep and let them get back in with 2 goals when we could have actually put the game to bed 25 minutes in given the chances we had. We looked pretty shaky and will 8 subs to give a run changes need to be made. Varun and Tony come on to replace Terry and Ed who tried hard in the bog on the left side. Fortunately Forlan grabs another great goal and we are ahead at half time 3 – 2. At half time Raul comes on for Hao, Jeff for Patrick and Chi for Hemant.
Once again we start well and Manj slams home a great finish to mark another good performance and give the manger a chance to sub him off for Sam who plays well down the left. They score another before Forlan caps a man of the match performance to complete his hatrick and is replaced by Mark. Rob is also replaced bu Lui Chiu. They come back with another goal but we hold on through lots of effort. Apart from a few moments of sleeping and numerous clothing issues we play very well. Everyone got a good run out and we played some very good possession football. Good to see us back in the goals. Let’s take this momentum into the next game!
MOM : Forlan
