Goals: Raul, Patrick, Henry, Varun*2
Cards: Sanj (Y), Patrick (Y)
Match & Mug of the day to Patrick (engineed by Sanj to make me drink some gross shots)

Trekking up to Hin Tin pitch near Shatin we had a squad of 14 players, warming up on the sidelines we were lucky not to lose a few players down the potholes that made up the side of the "pitch". Formation 4:4:2 with Andy (GK), left-to right, Sam, TonyC, Henry, Sanj, MarcD, Tom, Raul, Gez, Patrick & Forlan.

We started strongly and totally dominated the midfield with Tom winning lots of balls and Raul distributing the ball around well, Marc was creating a lot down the left side with his marauding runs linking well with Sam and Forlan.

Raul opened the scoring having spotted their keeper off the line to sink one from just inside their half, a few chances to the strikers with Patrick chipping one making in 2:1, set piece with Raul drifting one into the box into the patch of Henry to make it 3-nil. Both strikers could have added to the tally with a number of shots going wide as well as the usual joke off-side calls.

Everyone was playing well and we were working well as a team, slick passing and going back to rebuild where necessary with the opposition never really looking like they would break the back four. However the opposition pulled one back after a mix up at the back, shortly followed by a harsh penalty given for a Sanj hand ball as the ref did his best to even out the match, up jogged their keeper only for Andy to make a fine save – nothing the ref could do about that.

Couple of changes at half time with league debutante Gez and Marc making way for Varun and Hao with George on 10mins later for Forlan. With his did in the stands Varun was on a mission scoring a quick goal from some nice build up play with Raul and made it a brace (after telling everyone to follow in on Raul’s free kick) getting to the ball
ahead of Henry to make it 5:1.

The last 10-15 mins saw the match open up a bit more and the opposition got a bit feisty ending up with one of their players off for a second yellow.

While the opposition was not the strongest it’s good to get another win under our belt and that takes us up to 4th in the table. We have another league match this Sunday (reply to the next email) and we also have a friendly match on the Monday v KCC Royals at King’s Park
