A good win after last week’s loss. We played some excellent football and general team work and movement off the ball was brilliant at times. The only blotch was somehow we conceded 3 goals which we need to try minimize our error rate for future matches.

 

Rich C scored our first although many will contest this was a huge deflection regardless it was welcoming goal to give us the lead. They responded back pretty quickly with us giving the ball away in our third and clever lob equalizing. Forlan stepped up with a cracker strike to restore the lead before a suspiciously offside goal leveling it for them. Rob was having a terrific game and his superb shot gave the keeper no chance to give us an important lead before the break.

 

Second half we started well with Joe and Simon teaming up well to put us a head with Simon slotting it past an incoming keeper.  A unlucky penalty saw them take the lead after Sam made a terrific save but couldn’t stop their rebound. However further goals by Rob, Forlan and Nick destroyed Force’s backbone and we piled on the pressure in the end, the score could have been anything with several glaring misses.

 

All in all a good display and needed three points. Everyone played well, special mention to Sam who had a very solid game in goals after a lengthy break. Was great to have Briggsy back who lead the team well and strengthen our defence with some crucial tackles, although we will need to arrange an alarm clock for him next week.

 

Forlan was forever dangerous up front and was well supported by Rich and Simon up front. However it was a dominating midfield display that pleased the gaffa the most. Stephen and Joe out wide look very dangerous and Steve G coming into his own in the second half. However MOM by some margin went to Rob D who didn’t make a mistake all day in the centre of the park and polished off his dominating display with two outstanding goals.
