Goals: Mike K, Jens, Forlan.

After our shock defeat ending our 13 game winning  streak there was some talk around town mainly from a few Revo-Sparts guys that the Spartans season would flounder. With a bearish 14 players but nevertheless strong squad we ventured far off to the seaside of Sai Kung to take on a resurgent and quite different Legal Head side from previous encounters.

Minus Briggsy who needs to buy a new alarm clock we had 13 to contest the match with two newbies George and Hugh making the numbers.

Kick-off and from the outset we played some excellent football, the passing was brilliant the interplay was great and we looked threatening with each wave of attack. Some near misses before Knowlzer stepped up to drive home our first, admittedly there was a slight deflection but that wasn’t noticed by the bumper crowd in the stadium.

The second goal game from the opposition goal kick won brilliant on the header by Jimmy Rose. Jens powered through the players with speed and determination to get us our second. Then before the break Forlan broke through the defence with a several yards of pace to slot home our third in grand style.

The second half was much the same but without the finish. A few glaring missus saw the score line remained untouched. Speedy debutant George could have easily scored a hat trick along with a host of other regulars but it wasn’t to be.

MOM went to Jimmy Rose who narrowly beat Forlan and Thomas D, Forlan who had the ball on a string and Thomas D who along with Jan held the defence rock solid throughout. A good turnout afterwards at the Sai Kung pub saw us down a few pints and a few Macca cheese burgers curtouesy of Mav, as smiles all round filtered from the news Revo lost and Mes drew.

With 5 games to go and 9 point gap we look odds on favorites but with a few tough games ahead of us we will need to keep our wits end to make sure we finish off what’s been a great season.
