Guys

Unfortunately not a full report for this game as the gaffer couldn’t take notes as he had to keep an eye on his son who he lost once before kick off.

Thanks to everyone for making the long journey to Tuen Mun for a thoroughly entertaining game and another excellent result as the Soho Spartans roll on in the 2011/2012 campaign.

We start in the usual 4 – 4 – 2 with the following:

Sanju (G)
Hemant (RB)
Dan (CB)
Flabbo (CB)
Stef (LB)
Ed (LM)
Steve Y (CM)
Tom (CM)
Nick (F)
Cowley (F)

From the off the team we beat last year 9 – 1 on aggregate are in total awe of us. We are 1st to the ball, dominate possession and have all the clear chances of the 1st half. The defense is extremely secure, the midfield is a class above other team and our strikers have far too much speed for them.

Notable performances in the 1st half come from all our midfield and forwards.

However, we go in at half time 0 – 0. We dominated possession but were not cut throat and decisive enough.

At half time we move to 3 – 5 – 2, Karan comes on for Nick as a forward and Jeff slots into a holding role in midfield for Ed.

In the second half our aggression kicks in and we become angrier and more direct. We have many chances. The star of the show is Karan who grabs a hatrick on debut. Stef also does well finishing as a striker. Steve and Tom are excellent with Steve getting a goal, Matt continues his rich vein of form and Sunny gets a good run on the left. Our 3 centre backs also have an outstanding game. All in all 10 out of 10 to all the lads in the 2nd half.

Also sorry to have benched 3 out of the 4 Indian outfield footballers. Its nothing personal…

Yorkshire Pudding Man of the match : Hemant for a Julian Dickslike game at the back taking no prisoners

Yorkshire Pudding Mug of the day : Yours truly for losing his son and having a protein shake before a night on the town.

Also good work for all those who went on to trendy Halo later. A good night was had by all.
