Location: Astro pitch Happy Valley

Team 1st half formation 3-5-2

GK: Dan

DF: Nav, Colin Chi

Mid: German Rich, Tom R, Mav, Rob, Pat

FW: Jorg, Forlan

Rolling Subs: Oli, Willie W, Miles

With the lack of defenders my option was to play a 3-5-2 formation which frustrated the opponent throughout: We started off brightly playing as a unit. Then somewhere from a corner Rob headed the ball towards the goal mouth and the ball bouncing off Patrick face from the 0.5yard to fall into the net GOAL! 1-0 Great head to head comedy action even Pats was surprise by his contribution. The second goal came 5 mins later that man Pat again driving in a nice low through ball from the left wing to Forlan, with composed style dribbled around the defender and goalkeeper to place the ball beautifully in the back of the net.

Goalazzio! 2-0.
After this even though we had some excellent build up we did’nt manage to finish our numerous chances. On another day we would have been 5 goals up easily. None the less a great play from all the lads including all the subs that came on. It was noted Nav played really well in defense to close down the opponents attack with producing some hard accurate tackling during this half.

2nd half Pat in goals and Dan in DF we switched to conventional 4-4-2 Again Spartans started off in convincing manner with some excellent passing and movement in midfield in the first 5 mins. Sorry can’t remember who took the left corner to which Dan met the ball with his head and blasted in a ferocious well timed header from 6 yards out.

Goal! 3-0. Vintage Stuff from American Dan

Immediately after for about 10mins in true Nite Spartan fashion we went to sleep and let “loose the goose” to make this game difficult for ourselves. From the right side of the pitch we let in a very sloppy goal. (3-1). 5mins later with were caught again. (3-2)

At this point a few substitutions was the medication we needed to bring in some fresh legs with Colin and Nav coming off to be replaced by Oli (DF) and Mav Right back. German Rich came on for Chinese Willie. We manage to wake up again to see off the last 15mins to secure a spirited win against the team with no name.

Final Whistle 3-2

Thank you all again for coming down last minute since there was a mix up with the dates. And playing well lads.
